ANTS ON THE TABLE: BOARDGAME DESIGN XXL 2026
Yesterday, we spent the day at Boardgame Design XXL in the Neude Library in Utrecht and what a day it was.
The main goal this time was to gather feedback on our new project That’s How You Get Ants, which is currently deep in its playtesting phase. We set up our table and invited visitors to jump in, explain the rules, and share their thoughts. To help draw people over, we also brought along Dodeka, giving attendees a chance to see (and touch!) the printed prototype in real life.
Just like last year, we were almost fully occupied from start to finish. It was great to see so many curious players stop by, sit down, and engage with our games. There were a lot of enthusiastic screams of joy and we walked away with several really strong pieces of feedback—exactly what we were hoping for. Those insights will go straight into the next version of Ants.
Days like this are a great reminder of why we love doing this. Talking to many different types of players, watching games unfold at the table, and seeing people genuinely enjoy something you’ve created.
All in all, it was a very fruitful day. We’re excited to continue refining That’s How You Get Ants, and at the same time we’re eagerly awaiting any news from our agent about potential deals for Dodeka. Onward to the next iteration and the next milestone...
